Sierra Leone’s forward, Ibrahim Sorie Barrie, opened his Víkingur Ólafsvík account in the Iceland second division league to help his new side secure a 0-2 win over IR.
Barrie, who joined the Icelandic side on season long loan from Sierra Leone, gave the visitors the lead in the 58 minute and got his name on the referee’s book in the 78th minute. Like Barrie, his countryman, Kwame Quee, also played full time in the victory.
Mohamed Buya Turay and Victor Mansaray were the two other Sierra Leoneans to find the net in Sweden and United States of America respectively.
Buya Turay scored his fifth goal in six matches for Dalkurd FF, but they were humble 1-2 at home by Kalmar FF. The Sierra Leonean forward now sits second in the goal scoring chart behind Gambia and Hammarby’s Pa. Dibba, who is with 6 goals.
Also, striker- Victor Mansaray, came from the bench to score his first goal for Charleston Battery as they secured their third home win of the 2018 USL regular season on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Charlotte Independence at MUSC Health Stadium.
Mansaray made a cameo in the 85th minute and just lasted three minutes to get his first goal for the club. In Denmark, Mustapha Bundu’s AGF are still in pursuit for a place in the Europa League Play-offs, as they moved a step closer with a 3-2 win in their quarter-final clash against OB. Bundu came in the 78 minutes to help maintained their first leg win.
Striker, Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara, was replaced in the 78 minute in BK Häcken’s 0-3 win over Trelleborg earlier in the 42nd minute. The striker was cautioned by the referee and in the first division, Alie Sesay was an unused sub for IFK Frej as they suffered 0-2 defeat to AFC Eskilstuna, while Ishmeal Koroma returned to the Atvidaberg squad that suffered 0-1 defeat to Mjällby.
Victor Moses was unable to find the net against his former side, Vendsyssel, but his new club, Viborg secured 1-3 away victory and in England, Sullay Kaikai, was withdraw in the 71 minutes in Charlton Athletic 1-0 away defeat to Rochdale. In Scotland, Mustapha Dumbuya, was an unused sub for Partick Thistle in their 1-1 draw against Ross County.
Striker, Kei Kamara, returned from injury for Vancouver White Caps in the 63 minute as they defeated Minnesota United 0-1 in the Major League Soccer, while a step further down, Michael Lahoud replaced McLaughlin in the 71 minutes as his Cincinnati secured 4-2 win over Atlanta United II.
In Finland, both Abdul Sesay and Thomas Koroma were in action for TP-47, but they were on the losing side as they suffered 0-1 to OLS.
