Sierra Leone international, Kei Kamara, became the 10th player in Major League Soccer history to hit the 100-goal mark in the regular-season matches, thanks to his goal in Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo.
The 33-year-old 100th MLS regular season goal came in the 28th minute from the penalty spot before Brek Shea doubles their lead early in the second half at BBVA Compass Stadium.
“It’s an honour to really be playing for the Whitecaps now and reaching this milestone for this club,” said Kamara, who was playing in his overall 300th MLS games.
“Not just that, I’m playing against one of the teams I used to play with -the Dynamo.”

“We were able to get three points tonight so not just the goal or the milestone, it’s a big game so it was good.”
Kamara has scored twice in as much as many games. The Sierra Leonean-born, in his 12th season in MLS, has scored goals for the Whitecaps, Columbus Crew SC, Sporting KC, Houston, San Jose Earthquakes and New England Revolution.
Kamara is resilient of one greater milestone – that is winning his first MLS Cup. “One thing that’s not under my belt is a championship ring,” Kamara said. “That’s the focus, that’s what I’m playing for right now and hopefully I’m able to get to that pretty soon.”
