Veteran Sierra Leone striker, Kei Kamara, has a dream start on his debut with Vancouver Whitecaps, as they got-off a flying start with a 2-1 home victory against Montreal Impact.

The victory gave the Whitecaps a good start in the 2018 season opener at home soil and it was the Sierra Leonean forward who drew first blood with a header in the 63rd minute before 17-year-old Alphonso Davies doubled their lead in the 70th minute first Major League Soccer goal.

Another Sierra Leonean who found the net over the weekend was Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara. The injury prone forward guided BK Häcken to a place in this year’s Swedish Cup (Svenska Cupen) quarter-finals, thanks to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against GIF Sundsvall to move at the top of Group 4 at the Bravida Arena.

It was the first competitive goal for ‘Crespo’ Kamara, who has been long battling with knee injury that ruled him out of the second phase of last season in the Swedish topflight league.

Kim Skoglund scored the opener for GIF Sundsvall in the 25th minute to silence the home fans, but a resilient Hacken side fought back with Kamara’s goal that level the score-line in the 69th minutes.

In Denmark, Mustapha Bundu played 87 minutes for AGF as they suffered 0-1 home defeat to København in the Danish topflight league, while a step below in the Denmark league, striker Christian Moses was among Steffen Higher’s eleven selected players as he watched from the bench to see his new side, Viborg secured 3-1 win over Nykøbing.
