One of Sierra Leone’s best singers and dancers, Sfano Njawa Sesay, popularly known as General Sfano – Michael Jackson of Sierra Leone – over the weekend released a hit-single titled “Saful Saful” (meaning gradually, gradually).
The mega singer and dancer, has been in the entertainment world since age 4 when he emerged in 1993, and clinched the moniker ‘Michael Jackson of Sierra Leone’ during a national dance competition organised in Freetown.
Since then, he has remained an indomitable dancer that has inspired young boys who themselves like to be called ‘Salone Michael Jackson’ and wish to be like Sfano.
In the song “Saful Saful”, Sfano cautions those he inspires, including children, that they will never be like him, therefore they should opt to be themselves.
General Sfano is loved by children than any other musician in Sierra Leone, and he is fondly called ‘Salone Michael Jackson’ wherever he goes.
In a brief interview with the evergreen singer, dancer, he said entertainment has been his solid means of survival and through which he formed the Sfano-Michael Jackson Children’s Development Fund (SFAMJACFUND) and the Everybody Must Farm (EMF) Project – geared towards supporting the development of people for the love of children.
He revealed that his group has been struggling to access fund and that he would use his entertainment skills by staging series of concerts to access funds from donors.
General Sfano sometimes ago assured the public of meeting Janet Jackson in the United States of America and other members of the Jackson family to help him raise funds for the Sfano-Michael Jackson Children’s Development Fund. Although the visit has been delayed for undisclosed reasons, Sfano said progress was being made through his hit-single- ‘Saful Saful’.
The song Saful Saful is currently getting airplay on radio stations across the country and in clubs as the mega singer and dancer consolidates his niche in the entertainment industry.
He concluded by calling on every Sierra Leonean to maintain the peace by going “Saful Saful” to the polls and voting “Saful Saful” for their candidates.
