Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Cornelius Devaeux, got it wrong when he said the ruling All Peoples Congress party would process with their presidential and parliamentary candidates without causality.
Devaeux was speaking at the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation’s ‘Morning Coffee program’ about their presidential and parliamentary nominations.
He had promised that their supporters will not be involved in any form of violence -as they are a peaceful party that secured police clearance to rally from East to the West of the city -after their aspirants would have completed their nominations at NEC.
The deputy minister claimed that some other political parties demonstrated violence during their procession on (Thursday January 25, 2018) -as it was reported that some of their supporters -who were returning back along Pademba Road, circular Road attack peaceful citizens and also shop owners.
However,Deveaux got it all wrong because irate APC youth allegedly stormed Campbell Street and destroyed properties worth millions.
Currently , security personnel are manning the residence.
