Guinean F.A Cup winner, Hafia Football Club, arrived in Freetown on Thursday for a double header friendly against the Sierra Leone national home-base team, Leone Stars and premier league side, Mighty Blackpool.

The Guinean F.A. Cup champions, who are in preparation for this year’s CAF Confederation Cup, will play against Mighty Blackpool on Sunday, January, 14 before taking on Leone Stars home base squad on Tuesday 16 January. Both matches will be played at the National Stadium in Freetown.

According to popular football agent who is also the pioneer of both matches, Chernor Musa Jalloh, the game is part of the Guinean side’s preparation for their continental competition.

“This is also good for us as Sierra Leonean because we have two of our players; Prince Barrie and Alusine Mansaray aka Robinho who are with the Guinean team.”

On their return to Conakry, Hafia Football Club will also play two other friendlies against Réal de Bamako in Conakry and another local opponent in Guinea before their two-legged match against Energie FC of Benin in the CAF Cup.

Hafia FC was founded in 1951 and is also known as Conakry II in the 1960s. They won three titles under that name. It has dominated the African football in the 1970s.
