One Frankly Kamara, 10, last Friday testified against one Sorie Conteh, who is alleged to have raped and murdered Fatmata Tarawally at Bathurst village in the Mountain Rural District.
While testifying at the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.1 presided over by Magistrate Mohamed Seray-Wurie, the witness told the court that on 28 June, he was sent by his mother to collect her cooking pot from one Adikalie. He said he went to the unfinished building but did not know Adikalie’s room, and that he was searching for the room when he saw human feet at the veranda.
The witness further narrated that he later saw Adikalie and informed him that someone was lying at their veranda. He said he went home and informed his father, Mohamed Koroma, about the incident, and that he was subsequently invited by the Mountain Police Division to make a statement.
The accused was arraigned on two counts of murder and rape contrary to law.
According to the charges, the accused on 27 June, 2015 murdered the deceased, Fatmata Tarawally, at Regent village.
The matter continues on Tuesday, 25 August.
