Twenty four-year-old Raymond Ezekiel Thorley and Alex Kanu, both teachers, were on Friday committed to the High Court of Justice for further trial.

Both accused persons were before Magistrate Abdul Sherriff of Siaka Steven Street Court No.7 on two counts of Sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the Sexual Offences Act of 2012.

The particulars of offence states that first accused Raymond Ezekiel Thorley, from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2012, at Goderich, sexually penetrated a child aged fifteen.

It further states that second accused person Alex Kanu, from 1st January 2013 to December 31st 2013 at 149 Main Peninsular Road, sexually penetrated a child aged fifteen.

While testifying in court, the victim recognised both accused persons as her home teachers and recalled the period at which the incident occurred.

She explained that on one of the occasions, her mother went for shopping while her sister travelled to Guinea, adding that she was left alone at home with the first accused person.

According to her, she was watching a movie when the first accused took her inside her room and laid her on the bed.

“He undressed himself and climbed on top of me and inserted his erected penis inside my vagina. After that I saw blood oozing out of my vagina. He later asked me to clean up myself, which I did,” she narrated.

The victim further explained that her family subsequently moved to their new home where the second accused person was hired to take her extra lessons at home.

She said on a date when her mother was not at home, the second accused person met her at the living room, undressed himself in front of her and asked her to sit on his erected penis.

According to her, one day they ran out of luck when her mother caught them at the back of their house and questioned them as to what they were doing.

“I was afraid to tell my mother but later told my sister what had happened between the accused persons and I. My sister told my mother who later reported the matter to the police station and later for medical examination,” she said.
