UTB staff participated in a float parade to mark the opening
Union Trust Bank (UTB) last Saturday, 14th October, opened a Western Union Money Transfer outlet in the Regent community, in the Western Area Rural District.
UTB organised a float parade before the opening ceremony to launch the outlet at the NP fuel station.
Speaking during the event, Manageress Agnes Mansaray said the new Western Union outlet would help alleviate suffering among residents of Regent and Gloucester communities who send and receive monies to and from their loved ones.
“We have passion for our customers. We did a survey and found out that most of our customers who are residing in rural communities were constrained in going to Freetown to send and receive monies from their loved ones. That was the reason we decided to open our outlet here,” she said.
She said they were the first to answer to the call of help from mudslide and flood disaster victims at Regent and Lumley, adding that the gesture was because they understand the needs of the people, and have created a way to make easy access of money through Western Union.
“The Western Union office, which is situated on 139 Main Motor Road NP by SS Camp, would be opened to the public from Monday through Saturday from 9a.m. to 9p.m. daily,” she said.
She said Western Union outlets are scattered all over the country and that they have been providing quality services to Sierra Leoneans for over two decades.
She encouraged people to make use of the services and to bank with UTB, which is a Sierra Leonean-owned bank.
