Police testifies in alleged wounding at Bintumani Hotel

Detective Police Constable, 15105 Aruna Sesay, attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has testified before Magistrate Albert Moody of Court No.1 in an ongoing alleged wounding matter involving one Tamba Kainessie.

He recognized the accused person and the complainant, stating that on 4th September, 2017, he was on duty when a case and enquiry file of wounding with intent was transferred from Aberdeen Police station to the CID Headquarter for further investigations.

DPC 15105 said the matter was later assigned to him alongside a butcher’s knife with blood stain and a memory stick with inscription Bintumani Hotel containing Close Circuit Television (CCTV) footage, which were handed over to him as exhibits.

He said on 5th September, 2017, the CCTV footage was played for the accused person, adding that he later handed over the knife and the memory stick to the exhibit clerk, Sergeant Abu Conteh.

According to him, on 6th September, 2017, final charge statement was obtained from the accused person by himself and one DPC 6585 Lanor J, while he later charged the accused person with the offence of wounding with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

Tamba Kainessie was before the court on three counts of wounding with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The particulars of offence stated that the accused person on Thursday 24th August, 2017, at Bintumani Hotel, wounded Wang Gang with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and at the same date and place, wounded Wang Gang.

It also stated that the accused person also assaulted Wang Gang in a manner thereby occasioning to actual bodily harm.

The matter was prosecuted by ASP Samuel Kamara,associated by Lawyer George, while the accused person was represented by Lawyer C .F Edwards and M. Karimu.

The matter comes up today.
