Alhaji Osman Thonkla Bangura, who has declared his intention to contest for President under the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC), has identified wastage spending in government as a priority area he would declare war on if given the ticket of the party and he became president.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Concord Times over the weekend, the UK- based South- East Londoner opined that a bloated government is holding the nation back and that he would ensure that fiscal discipline will be the order of the day.
He promises to restructure the tax system so that, “everyone will pay his or her taxes fairly.” Furthermore, he promised to replicate the Rwandan model for the transformation of the country. “If elected, I will ensure that fifty percent of my cabinet is women,” the LLB Hon., MBA- Oil and Gas and LLM- Crime and Litigation holder said.
Access to affordable but quality education, youth employment, enhancing the criminal justice system, health and sanitation, among others, are his priority areas.
