AL–KHAIR Foundation in the United Kingdom has made available relief items worth millions of Leones to victims of the August 14 mudslide and flooding.
The items including 200 foam mattresses, 200 bags of 25Kg rice, 12 bales of used clothing, 100 gallons of palm oil and pieces of used blankets were officially handed over to victims at Kaningo, Regent and other affected communities by the ISHAN Foundation Sierra Leone on behalf of the foundation.
According to the Project Director of IHSAN Foundation, Sheik Issa Ghalie Sesay, the relief items were one of the emergency responses of the AL-KHAIR Foundation UK and assured of more support.
The affected victims expressed thanks and appreciation to the donors and their implementing partners, IHSAN Sierra Leone for their prompt response to their needs.
They claimed that IHSAN Foundation was the first humanitarian organization to help them with relief items and cash worth millions of Leones on the day of the disaster.
Also, IHSAN also provided cooked meal and drinks for the affected children and poor suckling mothers, who were in dire need of support.
