Sierra Leone international, Gibrilla Julius Wobay, has left Slovenian top league (Prva Liga) side, NK Olimpija after both parties agreed against signing a new deal as both the player and club confirmed.
The 31-year-old attacking midfielder, who joined the Slovenian top league side on a year-and-half contract in 2016 decided not to go on with a new deal with the club.
In an exclusive interview with Concord Sports via Facebook, the Slovenia based club did confirm the player’s contract has ended with a short message: “No, Julius’ contract has expired.”
Wobay also admitted: “Am done with that club.My deal is finish.” However, the attacking midfielder refused to make any further comment over his feature but it is believe that he is weighing other options.
He won the Slovenian league title with the club during the 2015/16 season and played over 33 matches scoring more than four goals for the club.
Before moving to Slovenia, Wobay last played for Azerbaijan top league side Neftči and since he East End Lions FC in Freetown for professional football, the player has had spell with Nea Salmina and Aris Limassol in Cyprus; Romania based Universitatea Craiova; in Azerbaijan for Khazar Lankaran and Neftči.
He also played for El Masry in Egypt before moving to the United Arab Emirates where he played for Al-Shabba.
Wobay was part of the Sierra Leone squad that defeated Kenya 2-1 in Freetown in June 2017 scoring the opening goal of the match as Sierra Leone get-off a flying start in their Group F qualifying campaign for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
