Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.1 on Wednesday 19th July, 2017, remanded one Foday Kamara at the Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown.
The accused was charged with two counts of wounding with intent and wounding contrary to Section 18 & 20 of the offences against the Person Act of 1861.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) T.M Bangura alleges that the accused on Monday, 12th June, 2017 at Beccles Street in Freetown wounded Matin Bailin with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
Prosecution Witness 1, Inspector Kakuda Kamara, told the court that she was on duty on the day of the incident when the complaint arrived at the station with blood all over her body.
He said he immediately referred the victim to the Connaught hospital for medical cheek up, while he later returned to the police and made a statement.
“When I started the investigation, I arrested the accused person and took him to the station and obtained statement from him,” he said.
Magistrate Bangura, however, remanded the accused in custody and adjourned the matter.
