Magistrate Albert J. Moody of Court No.1 yesterday granted bail to one Yusif Vamboi in the sum of twenty million Leones (Le20, 000, 000); one surety who should produce two passport pictures and must be gainfully employed.
Vamboi was arraigned on two counts of domestic violence contrary to law and the particulars of offence stated that on diverse dates between 4th to 31st October, 2016 at No. 13 Bishop Drive-Lumley, psychologically abused Sirah Jalloh, who was his wife.
The prosecution also alleges that on the same date and address, economically abused Sirah Jalloh who was his wife.
Defence Counsel, L. H. Jusu applied for bail pursuant to Section 79(3) of Criminal Procedure Act No.32 of 1965, stating that the accused has reliable sureties who were ready to stand in his cognizance.
He further pleaded with the Bench to consider the relationship between the accused person and the complainant, adding that they were in legally weeded and that no man should put asunder.
Lawyer Jusu told the court that it was a husband and wife issue and that he was ready to settle the matter out of court as part of his legal duties.
The matter was prosecuted by Inspector Marie Sesay and was adjourned to 1st August, 2017.
