Second prosecution witness, Yusufu Mondeh, yesterday testified before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Court No.5 in an ongoing preliminary investigation involving two accused persons- Kaddie Kamara and Aminata Ansumana.
The accused persons were before the Court on three Counts of wounding, assault occasioning actual body harm contrary to Section 20, and 47 of the Offence Against the Person’s Act of 1861 , public insult and provocation contrary to Section 2 of the Public Order Act No.46 of 1965.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Foday Tarawally, alleges that the accused persons on Thursday 20th April ,2017, at No. 61 Sir Samuel Lewis Road ,Aberdeen, extreme west of Freetown, maliciously wounded Mamie Ganda.
Mondeh, who is a carpenter, told the Court that, on 20th of April, he crafted a wooden seat and took it to the Aberdeen wharf for sale, adding that after sales; he was standing alone at the wharf when he saw two ladies approaching.
‘I saw the accused persons talking to someone after that, I then saw them going to the complainant,” he said
According to him, he saw the 1st accused came closer to the complainant and slapped her twice, while both of them fought the complainant and shoved her.
Meanwhile, the matter has been adjourned to the 26th July, 2017.
