United youngster eyes Leone Stars call

18-year-old Skemersdale United attacking midfielder cum striker, Tejan Brima, is eyeing a call-up to the Sierra Leone senior national team, Leone Stars ahead of the 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya in June.

Brima, who in March, 2016, was invited by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) for the African U-20 qualifiers against The Gambia, now wants to try his chance with the country’s senior team.

The England based youngster, who started his footballing journey with Linda FC in Sierra Leone, had an opportunity to exhibit his talent in Kampala, Uganda, where he was enrolled at the Vienna College.

It was in Kampala he was scouted by Liverpool Football Foundation College ad joined them in November, 2015, and underwent trial at Wolton FC, and after successful test, he was drafted into the senior team, Skemersdale United.

Already, the Sierra Leonean secured double gold medal in the U-19 youth development league in Liverpool before being invited for trials at Nottingham Forest against Crystal Palace and Mansfield.

“It will be an honour to represent the senior national team. I’m confident, motivated and ready to take my game to the next level,” Brima said.
