Presiding Magistrate at the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.1, Dr. Abou Bhkarr Binneh Kamara, yesterday remanded Joseph Foday Kabia and Amos Alimamy Kargbo at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre for allegedly murdering retired Magistrate Imran Rahman Fofanah.
Both accused persons were arraigned in court on three count charges of conspiracy to murder, murder and robbery with aggravation contrary to the laws of Sierra Leone.
The prosecution alleges that both accused persons on 23rd December, 2016 at No.3 Majay Town Goderich, Freetown, conspired with other unknown persons and murdered retired Magistrate, Imran Rahman Fofanah.
The prosecution further alleges that both accused on 23rd December, 2016 at the same address, western Freetown, being armed with harmful gadgets, robbed retired Magistrate Imran Rahman of assorted household items valued millions of Leones.
However, State Prosecutor, Ahmed G M. Bockarie, told the court that they have not yet held conference with their prosecution witnesses. He asked for adjournment to enable them have proper conference with their witnesses and promised that on the next adjourned date, they would produce their first witness.
The matter continues.
