Director of Kids Give, Lawrence University in the United States of America, Professor Claudena Skran, has handed over a borehole solar power pump to the Comforti primary school at Calaba town in Freetown.
Speaking over the weekend, Professor Claudena Skran, said they were aware of the challenge to access pure drinking water in the country, hence they thought it fit to construct a borehole solar power pump for the school.
She said though they stay in another continent, their heart and soul were in Sierra Leone, adding that over six hundred (600) children would be benefitting from the goodies.
She noted that they have been supporting five hundred school children by proving them scholarship for the past ten years.
Professor Skran said a team of twenty- five (25) students from his university have been in Sierra Leone for a month on voluntary assignment at the Conforti primary school.
Co-president of Kids give, Alex Kurki, Said the organisation was a non-profitable organisation within the lawerene University in the United States of America, and that it was founded in 2009.
He added that they have provided scholarship to five schools in Sierra Leone including conforti Primary school, and that they were doing a lot of fund raising to sponsor the scholarship scheme.
Earlier, head of comforti community Aid Children organisation, Mr. Francis Mason, who introduced the Director of Kids Give,said his organisation initiated the project.
He said their aim was to help solve the problem in the school, disclosing that the project was funded by Rotary International, Wisconsin Appleton, U.S.A.
