Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars, caretaker coach Sellas Tetteh has revealed that the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) owes him two months’ salary.
The Ghanaian tactician, who was contracted by the SLFA as a caretaker coach for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, told Ghanaian based website Ghanasoccernet.com that he was yet to receive his salary for the past two months although the administration still wants his to stay.
However, with his salary backlog, Teteh is unsure about his future with the Sierra Leone national team and he told the soccer website: “For now it’s 50-50 because I’m waiting for two months’ salary arrears before I can consider their offer.
“The people really want me back because of the work I did. They are not playing any league there; I had to do a lot of groundwork to build a team for the qualifiers. Now both the ministry and the government have joined the FA to let me stay because they are impressed with my work.”
Meanwhile, it was recently reported by various media institutions that former East End Lions and Al Ismaili defender, Abubakarr Tostao Kamara, is a candidate for the Sierra Leone senior national coaching job.
According to the latest information from sources within the Sierra Leone Football Association, they are considering replacing the Ghanaian coach with former Leone Stars captain Abubakar Tostao Kamara, but SLFA Director of Competition, Sorie Ibrahim Sesay, was quick to dismiss such report, adding that the Ghanaian is still the head coach of Leone Stars.
