Several youngsters who participated in the just concluded New Harvest Global Ministries three-day Basketball clinic at the Bo Coronation Field have expressed their delight over the training and knowledge gained.
A Total of over 50 participants from schools, basketball clubs and other interested groups benefited from the training which was conducted by eight instructors from the United States of America.
According to Bo based sports journalist, Junior Francis, the training, which included fundamental drills, team practices and religious sessions was very successful and that participant were very impressed with the three days clinic.
“The training was well appreciated by all especially the young participants who request for such opportunities in the future,” Francis said.
Juliana Massa from the Queen of the Holy Rosary School [QRS], said, the training has created a lot of impact in her life.
She said: “I feel very happy because I have learnt so many skills throughout this three-day training and I really know that it will impact something better in my life. Only two of us are girls that benefited from this training but we took it as a challenge to prove to the boys that we are capable of doing it and I believe that we can foster the minds of our colleagues in attracting them to come to the sport”.
One of the instructors, John McNutt said he was impressed with the great sportsmanship character in the trainees but maintained that they also wanted to share the love of Jesus Christ with the players.
“We also want to help them see that leadership in basketball is the same as the leadership in life and we need to have good team work with one another. We need to support each other and nobody can do it on their own,” he said.
