Barnet and Sierra Leone international defender, Alie Sesay, was sent off in the club’s 2-2 draw with Grimsby Town at the at Blundell Park Stadium on Saturday.
The Bees played the final five minutes injury time of the Sky Bet League Two clash with a man down due to Sesay’s straight red card for a nasty challenge near the touchline on Scott Vernon
Sesay’s dismissal came just five minutes after his introduction, as he replaced Weston in the 85th minute but the referee; Seb Stockbridge, wasted no time in sending him back to the changing room.
Two goals from striker John Akinde from the penalty spot in the space of five second-half minute, ensured that the ten-man Barnet came from two down to secure a 2-2 draw, but only after the Mariners missed a last-gasp penalty.
Elliott Johnson’s own goal gave the Mariners, under new boss Marcus Bignot for the first time in the league, the lead against the run of play.
Omar Bogle then doubled Town’s advantage, when he dashed through to lash under the returning Jamie Stephens.The red card was Sesay’s first this season for the Bees.
