Woman in court for kidnaping two months old child

One Fatmata Mateneh Mansaray yesterday made her last appearance before Magistrate Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh-Kamara for allegedly kidnaping two month old baby girl.

The accused was before the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.1 on a count’s of child kidnapping, contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused on Friday 2, September, 2016 at Mongagba village along Regent-Grafton Road, kidnapped two months old baby girl.

The last prosecution at the lower court, detective police constable 12143 Sheiku Turay attached to the Regent police post, told the court that on September 2, 2016 a case of child kidnapping was reported to the post, while a statement was obtained from the complainant and other witnesses.

The witness continued that he visited the crime scene at Mongagba village and on 13th September, 2016 the accused was arrested at Rokel village.

He said a police medical request form was issued to the complainant on behalf of the victim for treatment ,while a charged statement was obtained from the accused person on 5 October, 2016.

Meanwhile, Dr. Binneh-Kamara stated that the prosecution has led sufficient evidence against the accused person to warrant her committal to the High Court.

The matter was prosecuted by Sergeant 5115 Margret Kpundeh.
