Lawyer for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Abdul-Rahman Mansaray, is set to make a written address to the High Court presided over by Justice Alusine Sesay in the ongoing trial of the former Registrar of the Sierra Leone Law School, Herbert Hezekai Davis-Cole, also a former Magistrate.
The prosecution had closed its case and it is now the turn of the defence to open theirs.
Defence counsel C.F. Edwards yesterday told the court that they will not call any witnesses as they rely on the statement they had made to the ACC. He also noted that they will address the court on the next adjourned date.
Meanwhile, ACC lawyer Mansaray informed the judge that the written statement will be delivered to the court before the next adjourned date of August 4, 2015.
It could be recalled that following complaints made by some affected Law School students alleging malpractice in the computation and release of the 2012/2013 Bar final results, and the report of an investigation conducted by the Council of Legal Education, Mr. Davis-Cole and two others were charged to court by the ACC for “improperly conferring an advantage on law students” as they were alleged to have added unearned grades to certain students which enabled them to meet the threshold to pass the June 2013 final examination.
