The 22-year-old was substituted 40 minutes in the first half during Sunday’s 4-2 defeat away to Orlando City, as he was said to have aggravated a hamstring that kept him on the sideline for over three months.

United will take on Montreal Impact at the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in their first play-off action today, Thursday October 27 and Kamara has already been ruled out of the clash.

“Forward Alhaji Kamara is not available after aggravating a hamstring injury late in the first half on Sunday. It was his first appearance in more than three months. He was sidelined for the rest of the campaign,” DC United coach Ben Olsen said.

The Sierra Leone international joined DC United in May, 2016 after the club officially announced his signing on their official website. Since moving to United, Kamara has only featured in eight competitive matches, scoring a goal.

His time with the MLS club has been hampered by a hamstring injury, missing almost three months.

Kamara has played in Sweden and also had a loan spell in Malaysia during 2015. His breakthrough in Sweden came with IFK Norrköping, where he scored 21 goals in 48 career games and scored seven goals in 13 appearances during their 2015 Swedish league championship run.
