Sierra Leone captain, Umaru Zaingallay Bangura has confirmed he will be undergoing a second surgery on his let finger today.
The FC Zurich defender made the disclosure via social media communication stating: “I will undergo the operation again tomorrow.”
According to the defender, he hurt the same finger during last Monday’s training with his Swiss Challenge League leaders and the latest development will see him missed Thursday’s Europa league group stage match day three against Steaua București.
Bangura originally damaged the finger during training before their last Europa league season opener against Spanish top flight side Villarreal, but was able to be part of the FC Zurich’s side that suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Spanish side.
Since joining the Swiss club in August this year on a three years deal, the Sierra Leone skipper has only made two league appearances and scored his first league goal in FC Zurich 5-0 thumping of Wohlen at the Niedermatten stadium on Sunday 2 October.
Another Sierra Leone player who is on the treatment table is Denizlispor midfielder, Alfred Zagallo Sankoh who could be on the sideline for three to six weeks having broken his right arm.
The midfielder suffered the injury in Saturday’s 2-0 league defeat away to Boluspor at the Bolu Atatürk Stadium in the Turkish division one and he was taken off the pitch just 20 minutes of play.
