  Duo chasing Sullay Kaikai

August 30, 2016 By Sahr Morris Jr.

Sierra Leonean youngster Sullay Kaikai was left out of Crystal Palace’s 1-1 draw with AFC Bournemouth after it emerge that the player could be on his way out on loan to Ipswich Town.

The 21-year-old was spotted in the directors’ box at Portman Road during Ipswich Town’s 1-0 win over Preston North End, but the Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy said after the match that news of the winger’s appearance at Portman Road was news to him.

Meanwhile, another championship side, Brentford, are believed to have joined the race for the loan signing of the youngster.

The winger, who had an impressive pre-season with Palace, is yet to be featured for the team this season and has only appeared twice for the Palace first team, scoring on his debut in a League Cup defeat to Newcastle, making his Premier League debut in the final game of last season against Southampton.

He had looked set to get a chance in the first team at the start of this campaign, but injury kept him out of the side and he now looks likely to go out on loan in search of first team football.

Elsewhere, few Sierra Leonean players were in action over the weekend for their respective clubs. In English League One, Alie Sesay was left on the bench throughout the match as his Barnet side suffered 0-1 defeat to Carlisle United. German- based midfielder George Davies had a different fate as his Greuther Fürth side secured 3-2 win over Erzgebirge AUE.

In Finland, Hassan Sesay had full time action for Lahti but they suffered 3-0 defeat on the road to Rops, while striker Abdul Sesay played a part for his OPS club 2-1 win over MUSA.  John Kamara continues his full time work out with Riga FC but they were defeated 0-1 at home by Liepāja.

Sierra Leone skipper Umaru Bangura returned to the FC Zürich bench in their 1-3 win over FC Schaffhausen. Bangura only made his debut last week.
