The bigamy matter between the state and opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) flagbearer hopeful, Alie Kabbah, has been adjourned to Wednesday, 5 October, 2016 by the trial judge, after the prosecution asked for a long adjournment.

Prosecutor A.G.M. Bockarie had told the court that six witnesses have testified in the matter and that an additional four would testify in the next session of the High Court that would commence this September.

Meanwhile, defense counsel Francis Ben Kaifala last Thursday made an application for his client to be granted leave by Justice Miatta Samba to leave the jurisdiction in order to undergo a routine medical checkup in the United States, which application was not objected by the prosecution.

Justice Samba granted the application, but on the proviso that the accused should produce all relevant documents pertaining to his travel abroad, for the records.

Mr. Kabbah was charged with bigamy and making false statement last December, but he had denied all the charges from the outset.
