President Ernest Bai Koroma has declared a civic funeral for the late Ambassador Gibril Santigie Moseray Fadika, as a mark of respect for the business magnate, who gave up the ghost at the White Chapel Royal Hospital in London, Sunday, 7 August, after a brief illness.
Even though the cause of death is yet to be made public, the late ‘Super’, as he was fondly called by teeming youthful supporters, was attending a conference in London when he suddenly felt unwell and requested to be taken to hospital, where he reportedly died few minutes after being admitted.
The sudden death of the business guru, philanthropist and flag bearer aspirant for the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) came as a big shock to Sierra Leoneans, especially youths who saw him as their mentor and instrumental in shaping their lives for the better.
As Chairman and Leader of the ruling APC, President Koroma visited the family home of the Fadikas at Magazine Cut, east Freetown, on Tuesday, President Koroma described his passing as a great loss to the nation and assured the family that the party would take full responsibility of the funeral.
According to him, late Moseray Fadika had prayed for himself through his hard work and generosity to thousands of Sierra Leoneans.
On behalf of government and all Sierra Leoneans, he conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed that Allah grant the late man eternal rest and peace.
Former Sierra Leone High Commissioner to the Republic of The Gambia, Ambassador Kemoh Fadika said: “Moseray had very good intentions for the APC and the country. My late brother worked hard for the APC.”
