Rio Olympic Games: Sierra Leone quartet in action this week

Sierra Leonean quartet Osman Kamara, Bunturabie Jalloh, Ishmail Dudu Kamara and Hafsatu Kamara will all be in action this week in the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.

Swimming duo Osman Kamara and Bunturabie Jalloh will be the first to compete on Thursday, 11 August and Friday, 12 August in the Men’s and Women’s 50m freestyle event respectively, at the Aquatic Stadium in the Olympic Park.

Kamara is in heat 2 against Nikolas Sylvester, Bourhan Abro of Djibouti, Abdelaziz Ahmed Mohamed of Sudan, Niger’s Albachir Mouctar,  Emerric Kpegba of Togo, Thierry Tindwende Sawadogo of Burundi and Dienov Andres Koka of Congo.

The following day will be the Women’s action and Bunturabie Jalloh will come up against the likes of Sudanese Haneen Ibrahim, Laraiba Seibou of Benin and Guinea’s Mariama Djoulde Sow.

On Friday, 12 August and Saturday 13 August, young sprinter Ishmail Dudu Kamara and Hafsatu Kamara will respectively take to the track in the 100m sprint preliminaries. The tournament organisers are yet to name all the sprinters into their heat and who their opponent will be.
