Swedish Allsvenskan side AIK are still eyeing Nyköpings BIS centre-back Ishmael ‘Jaw Jaw’ Koroma.
The 20-year-old was invited and played for the AIK’s U-21 side in an official league encounter last night against Orebro SK U-21 but did not want to comment on any transfer talks.
Koroma and Nyköpings’s teammates Samuel Kroon and Alegi Barrow were part of the AIK’s winning side; they won 4-2 at the Rosvalla IP (Nyköpings) Stadium on Tuesday.
However, the Sierra Leone international was happy to reveal is delighted with his progress.
Koroma has made (10) ten appearances for Nyköpings BIS this season and is convinced his game has come on rapidly this season.
He told footballsierraleone.net: “This is not my first time playing for AIK in U21 competitions, I’m a Nyköpings BIS player and I’m not sure if they (AIK) are still interested in me, but last night I played for 85 minutes with their U21 side and we won 4-2 so am happy.
“Maybe, they keep calling for my service at U 21 level because they monitoring my progress but am still a Nyköpings BIS player.
“I have made ten (10) appearances out of 14 league games with Nyköpings BIS this season.
“Playing so many games at this time has given me responsibility, maturity and helped develop my game.
“I always say the more games you play, the more you learn. This season has been good so far for me and I’m happy with the progress.”
The former old Edwardian defender signed a two-year deal with the Swedish Div 1 side in July 2014 after his impressive one month spell at AIK.
