Former Ravan Baku FK and Sierra Leone’s defensive midfielder, Samuel Barlay, is currently training with Swedish Division 2 league side, Syrianska IF Kerburan.
The 29-year-old midfielder, who just recovered from a knee injury, admitted that he is training with the Swedish club to keep fit and possibly play with the squad until the end of the season.
According to the former East End Lions midfielder: “I’m training with Syrianska to try to keep myself fit again and might play for them till the end of the season.”
Barlay, who underwent a knee surgery earlier in the year and was out for almost six months, is currently without a club. He said it was a difficult time for him to sit out for six months without football, but admitted he will try his best to be fully fit.
The former Revan Baku star first joined Syrianska IF in 2010, where he played 20 matches and scored four goals. He rejoined the club in June 2014 before extending his deal to another year in December. In July 2015, he moved back to the Azerbaijan Premier League and signed for Ravan Baku FK, his last club.
