Swedish Allsvenskan league Champions, IFK Norrköping have confirmed that Sierra Leone and new Leone Stars prodigy, Sheka Fofonah, will soon undergo trials with the club.
The 21-year-old forward has had an impressive spell with the Sierra Leone national team in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers scoring two goals and an assist in all three matches he has played in.
According to IFK Norrköping manager, Jens Gustafsson, they are expecting the player in Sweden for trials, but could not name a specific time for his coming.
“We have a player who is coming here for test, but I cannot really say when. He is a guy from Sierra Leone named Sheka Fofanah. He is a forward who we have got good tips about and we would like to have him in our environment to take a closer look at him,” Gustafsson said.
The gaffer revealed that the tip for Fofanah came from the same connectors who they used in the recruitment of their former Sierra Leone striker Alhaji Kamara, who recently joined U.S Major League Soccer.
He said: “We know he is a forward and we know little about his qualities too and thought it will be interesting enough for us to check it out because we already have interesting hints about him that we would check.”
The Sierra Leonean forward is said to be the only player that the club is planning to check at present despite rumor that the reigning champions are chasing new acquisitions especially when the Swedish transfer window will close on 15th July.
