Le37m larceny case committed to High Court

 Magistrate Dr. Abubakarr Binneh Kamara, presiding at the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.1, yesterday committed to the High Court a matter involving the trio of Mohamed Sylvalie, Joseph Demoh and Joseph Sylvalie for committing the felony of illegally entering a dwelling house, contrary to section 13(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

The prosecution alleges that between 30 June, 2015 and 12 January, 2016 they conspired and entered into a dwelling house at Maboreh, Calaba Town, east Freetown, belonging to one Binta Jalloh and stole three thousand eight hundred Euros, equivalent to Le24m, USD$400 equivalent, to Le2,308,000, 50 British pounds, equivalent Le300, 000, plus cash of Le11m, all totaling Le37, 608,000.

In his ruling following preliminary investigation, Magistrate Kamara said the accused persons have a case to answer, thus he committing the matter to the High Court for trial.
